For example, if the mother-to-be has chosen Noah’s Ark as her theme you could place stuffed animals around the room, play a game where the guests have to name the baby animal that goes with the mother animal (e.g. a mother sheep? The answer would be lamb), and you could have a Noah's Ark cake made at the local bakery. You could even present baby shower favors such as gummy bears wrapped in cellophane and ribbon or goats milk hand soap.
Other baby shower tips to consider are arranging the party to feature a particular color scheme (blue if they know it’s a boy, pink for a girl or whatever color the mother likes) or perhaps something that would suit the mother herself such as a spa theme (think lot’s of candles and aromatherapy incense) or a garden theme with lot’s of flowers.
Games:
Again, a baby shower should be lots of fun and that means setting the stage for fun. Plan for at least one game, be cautious though as games can be easily overdone at baby showers, the guests are primarily there to celebrate and visit. Create a simple menu of hor d’ourves, sweets, and punch. Decorate the room, possibly send invitations, and above all, spoil the mother-to-be, your goal is to plan the type of shower that will delight her.
Easy Baby Shower Punch:
Ingredients: 8 liters of Sprite, 1 gallon of rainbow sherbet
Preparations: Buy ice cream in half gallon containers. Take the first half gallon out and place it in the punch bowl. Add a two liter container of Sprite to the bowl and as it melts use an ice cream scoop to break off bits of the ice cream. Freshen up as necessary with additional ice cream and Sprite. For a flavorful flare consider adding fresh or frozen fruit, strawberries or blackberries look nice.
